Preventing muscle loss in space

The International Space Station (ISS) National Lab is working with private companies to prevent muscle loss during spaceflight. The researchers gave mice at the space station an antibody to inhibit the protein myostatin and measured key metrics. They froze the mice until they got back to Earth and found that the antibody is effective in preventing muscle loss. This research may also help treat muscle related diseases on Earth.
